The stink bomb that went off during the Democratic Nation Convention—a Bureau of Labor Statistics “revision” that erased over 800,000 jobs that had supposedly been created through the magic of Bidenomics—was a useful reminder of the illusory and misleading nature of the “facts” being bandied about by Democrats to justify their demented desire to keep right on pounding our Titanic of State into the icebergs of debt, dysfunction, and despair. Given that Kamala Harris, who only two months ago was a political punch line, is now being celebrated as a competent and historic woman seeking the Presidency—by supporters who, ironically enough, are resolute in their belief that women are not even a biological fact—one must be forgiven for a certain degree of cynicism and disbelief regarding the Democrats’ continued embrace of slippery “truths” that are devoid of facts and reason.
First off, no matter how one feels about his presidency, it is impossible to ignore the heartless manner in which Joe Biden was tossed on the trash heap of history by his Party. After some half-hearted gestures of thanks and the worst speaking slot ever accorded to a sitting President at a national political convention, he became an unperson, and the Kamala Cookout and Concert was in full swing: four days of “joy” with nary a position statement in sight.
It is, of course, unfair to say that Democrats lack policies or principles—they just don’t like to talk about them. It is always inconvenient to speak of ideas that repel the average voter.
However, at this point we can be pretty darned certain Kamala and her fellow Democrats are in favor of the following:
- Handing citizenship and loads of cash benefits to as many illegal immigrants as possible
- Ensuring that abortion is a sacrament and the unborn are disposable
- Helping everyone determine their own special degree of victimization while ignoring any possible individual responsibility for one’s happiness and success
- Continuing to borrow and spend until our nation is dead broke
- Making life as easy as possible for criminals and ignoring the cries of their victims
- Asserting total control over where we live, what we eat, and how we travel
- Ensuring men (particularly white ones) are both stigmatized and shunned
- Implementing a surveillance state with the power to censor and punish those who express unapproved thoughts
- Turning our schools and colleges into indoctrination centers that prohibit freedom of both thought and speech
- Defiling the faiths of Christians and Jews wherever possible
- Celebrating sexual perversions as “freedoms” while denigrating traditional moral beliefs
- Unleashing lawfare on anyone who dares to challenge their power or question their motives
It is obvious why Democrats spent four days in Chicago focusing on the Terrors of Trump. Putting their own bizarro-world Party platform on display to a national audience of the Independent and undecided voters they desperately need to sway would have been electoral suicide. Better to frighten Americans with the bogeyman of your opponent than pull back the curtain to reveal the reality of the dystopia you fantasize about creating out of the smoking ruins of the Biden-Harris Democratic debacle.
What is scary is that this strategy of purposeful amnesia (“You say Kamala has been the Vice President for three and a half years? Really?) and platitudinous rhetoric is that it just might work if the legacy media can be convinced to continue to be a willing co-conspirators in the ongoing charade. The illusion that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are America’s Sweethearts—rather than a matched set of Marxist ideologues—needs to be maintained for only a bit over two more months, and there are opportunities aplenty for barely legal mischief between now and Election Day (or Election Week, depending on just how much ballot box chicanery is permitted to occur).
The question of whether the most mean-spirited and misleading propaganda in American history can install a puppet who ran in no primaries and has given no interviews will soon be answered, and the vigor of our democracy will be tested—regardless of the outcome—by guaranteed protests that will rattle our remaining faith in both our leadership and our institutions. The final word on the outcome of our Presidential, Senate, and Congressional elections might not happen in a voting booth; it could come down to what happens on the streets of our towns and cities after the results are announced by our media dupes.
America has many times proven itself to be a resilient nation that does not back down from a challenge, and the two and a half months between our national elections and Inauguration Day might prove to be the most consequential ones in our recent history. We will learn a great deal about our character and resolve as we work to somehow reconcile diametrically-opposed visions of what America should be—and will be—in the decades ahead.
