Over the past nine years persistent, concerning, and credible rumors have emerged, which have now turned into a criminal referral, that ex-President Barack Obama played a central role in creating the Russian Collusion Hoax, often referred to as Russiagate, that consumed far too much of President Trump’s first term in office. Documents just released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard point to what some have characterized as “slam-dunk evidence” that Obama ordered the nation’s intelligence agencies to produce fake, slanderous information concerning Donald Trump’s relationship with the Russian government, which was thereafter packaged and disseminated through compliant and complicit media outlets with the direct support of Hillary Clinton’s failed Presidential campaign—all in a concerted effort to undermine a duly-elected President of the United States before he even entered office.
Some are calling this a political dirty trick built on official lies; others call it treason. However one chooses to label these carefully concocted and deeply damaging deceptions, fresh allegations are now bursting into the open—much to the embarrassment of Democrats. Already reeling under the sledgehammer successes of the first six months of Donald Trump’s second term and the rapidly diminishing popularity and influence of their core policies, Democrat would rather not revisit their shocking loss to Donald Trump in 2016 and its possibly felonious aftermath.
The central problem that will confront Democrats if these charges prove to be true is that Barack Obama occupies the very pinnacle of their pantheon of Presidents, so any accusations, however well-supported they might be, will be rejected by their minds and souls. In much the same manner as they regularly accuse Donald Trump’s supporters of being members of a far-right cult, so are Obama’s many acolytes in absolutely thrall to a far-left leader who seems the living embodiment of every value they espouse. Democrats would go crazy if their idol actually faced any charges in connection with these allegations, and their outrage might surpass any we have seen since Pearl Harbor—or Donald Trump’s victory in 2016.
However, don’t worry, Democrats. Barack Obama will probably remain safe and sound in his palatial retirement, although his underlings and helpers—or perhaps even Hillary Clinton—might find themselves imperiled by a slew of expensive civil lawsuits filed by Donald Trump and his associates, which will imperil a vacation beach house or two. The combination of the statute of limitations regarding criminal charges for actions surrounding the plot to “get” Donald Trump and the fanatical willingness of Democrats who served in Obama’s White House to fall on their swords to protect him is going to make any attempt to prosecute an incredibly frustrating uphill slog.
It is unlikely (but not impossible) that a Democrat insider is going to “flip” on Obama because failing to protect his legacy—and, by extension, their own—will shut them out of friendly summers in the Hamptons, private school admissions for their grandchildren, well-paid corporate consulting gigs, invitations to sun-drenched conferences in the Bahamas, and cushy lecture sinecures at universities. Turning on Obama will, as they well know, result in an unforgiving shunning that will effectively end their social lives and turn their families into pariahs, so plan for plenty of suspiciously faulty memories when it comes time for anyone to testify or give a deposition in connection with the details of Russiagate.
Moreover, one must not overlook the simple fact that the drumbeat of “Trump is Hitler” serves a purpose beyond the political by providing an excuse to lie to any prosecutor that might come sniffing around for the truth. After all, if Trump is a dangerous demon, any action that weakens the resistance to his policies cannot be contemplated—much less taken. Refusal to cooperate with the police is thereby magically transformed into a shining virtue, which is a neat trick that is usually only practiced by the Mafia. This unusual degree of group cohesion—as well as Groupthink—among Democrats makes it remarkably difficult to leave the safety of the herd and guarantees silence in the face of a subpoena.
Sadly, obedient Democrats will continue to see themselves as heroes—rather than useful idiots—because they are continually being told their dull and dogged devotion to destructive Marxist dogma is striking a blow against the very peculiar tyranny of a two-term President who is somehow “threatening” Americans by reducing our taxes, stopping government waste, securing our borders, and improving public safety. Anyone who claims brainwashing does not work should spend a little time talking to the Woke, wealthy, white liberals in New York City who are gleefully writing checks to support a Socialist Mayoral candidate who wants to destroy the capitalist system that allows them to live their cozy and cosseted lives in the classier neighborhoods of Manhattan.
Imagined bravery (rather than the reality of a cowardly coverup) will be the narrative of Democrats who will certainly do all they can to shield Barack Obama from the consequences due a President who allegedly abused the power and prestige of government for political gain. Expect a lot of amnesia and plenty of lawyerly lies because honesty might make many Democrat brains explode.
