It turns out the the “experts” were wrong (again). It was not a very close election for the Presidency between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The result was a definitive, decisive, and devastating smack down of Democrats who had convinced themselves that a Harris victory was inevitable.

Cure the lachrymose liberal commentators, late night television clowns, squealing TikTokers, and cable news meat puppets blaming Americans for wanting money back in their pockets, illegal immigrants out of their backyards, and hordes of busybody bureaucrats on the unemployment line. 

Must be all that darned racism and misogyny, right?

The truth of the matter for Democrats is (much as they obviously prefer to blame middle and working class Americans for wanting their lives back) neither dramatic nor difficult to discern: Harris was a lousy candidate and people were sick to death of the Biden-Harris agenda of failure and foolishness. Kamala’s strategy (if you can call it that) of playing not to lose rather than to win projected a tentativeness and insincerity that ultimately turned off voters and drained enthusiasm for her already questionable candidacy. 

Plucking a historically unpopular Vice President off the bench to replace her obviously senile boss was always a real head scratcher. Her teleprompter timidity and cackling sloganeering was on full display and failed to either provide a compelling rationale for her campaign or disassociate her from the many policy flops of Joe Biden, which left the door open for Donald Trump’s return to the Oval Office. Vowing to give Americans more the same thin gruel of debt, despair, and dysfunction was never going to be a winning message.

However, Democrats are convinced they are right and the voters are wrong, so they have vowed to punish Americans for their disobedience. We are already being subjected to vile propaganda, absurd lies, outrageous distortions, and paranoid conspiracy theories in an effort to terrify Americans back into a compliant herd—and this battering will continue to grow in volume with each passing day.

There is no doubt that the biggest challenge Americans will now face will be negotiating the many gradations between principled resistance and open insurrection as Democrats continue to discard any pale pretense of decency in their quest for money and power. Sadly, we can expect the worst (Democrats are already working to block certification of the Presidential election), and this refusal to recognize the will of the people will become loonier by the hour. It would not be a surprise if Donald Trump shows up on Inauguration Day to find out the locks on the doors of the White House have been changed by the bitter Bidenistas vacating the premises. It is just that bad, and it will become worse.

The relentless push by Kamala Harris and supposedly smart Democrats to equate Donald Trump with Hitler during the run-up to Election Day has created a dynamic that will make a smooth and cooperative transfer of power impossible. If your leaders have stated—loudly and repeatedly—that Republican control will result in an American Reich, how can you be expected to placidly hand over the reins of power to those whom you have been told are monsters? Having already lost so much at the ballot box, do they see any real alternative to rejecting the outcome of the election and undermining a Constitutional mandate to peacefully step aside for the victors? This is the panicked mindset Democrats have created among their followers, so we will, unfortunately, have to plan for a catastrophe.

Many Blue state officials are already veering toward seceding from the Union in all but name, having made plain their intentions to nullify, ignore, or replace laws, regulations, and executive orders they deem unacceptable. Having long ago decided that our legal system and founding documents are endlessly malleable and can be twisted to support whatever social and economic priorities they wish, it is thoroughly unsurprising that many distraught Democrats are today busily planning for a parallel existence that does not include ever recognizing the results of this past week’s elections or accepting the existence of any person who believes differently than themselves.

The next few months—and the years to follow—are not going to be pretty, and the chances for yet another assassination attempt directed at Donald Trump are unfortunately quite high because the crazies have been activated by out-of-control, partisan rhetoric that never should have been uttered. 

Words have consequences. The unfortunate outcome of the last decade of irresponsible attacks against both America and working Americans by Democrats and their leaders (Deplorables! Fascists! Garbage!) is going to be a surly and destructive rage across our nation that will not be conducive to the bi-partisanship we will need to deal with the flood tide of crises today engulfing our broke and broken nation.

Brawling in the lifeboats is never a good idea because everyone can end up swimming with the sharks, but it is an open question whether self-preservation will prevail over self-immolation. 

Kamala Harris’ platitudinously paranoid concession speech the day after her electoral thumping, when she encouraged her followers to work to protect freedom (blissfully unaware that she and her fellow petty tyrants have long been the greatest threat to our Constitutional liberties), did not give me a great deal of hope that Democrats are prepared to cooperate or compromise. Those who float on a featherbed of their own presumed moral superiority are apt to talk much and listen very little, which will be a problematic combination in light of the difficult national conversations that are dead ahead.

A lot of sacred cows of American Marxism are likely heading off to the slaughterhouse in 2025, and if we learned anything from the horrendous riots of the summer of 2020, it is this: Leftists seem to really enjoy burning America to the ground in the service of “freedom”. This could be a rough road ahead for us all.
