The latest in a long and depressing series of wars between Israel and its neighbors in now upon us, and no one has lost a moment assigning blame and demanding the weaponry necessary to fight on toward an illusory victory against their implacable foes. 

The unfortunate reality is that there will be no winners in this latest round of fighting—only more victims. Peace in this blood-soaked corner of our troubled planet would require a superhuman degree of forgiveness and forgetfulness, which is impossible when so many are seeking revenge for killings and humiliations that date back to Biblical times. The outcome of today’s battles will be more anger, less understanding, and fewer voices calling for reconciliation—all while the killing continues. If you define yourself by your fear, anger, and hatred toward one another, your peaceable thoughts will be few and far between, so we cannot expect sanity to prevail any time soon.

We must also be prepared for the plain fact that it is likely—guaranteed, in fact—that this new Middle Eastern war will soon become everyone’s war. Old school plane hijackings, car bombs, and brutal attacks on civilians will be resurrected to punish and intimidate those insufficiently supportive of one faction or another in the cauldron of bloodletting in and around Israel. 

However, what will today be very different from past conflagrations in the Middle East is the tens of millions of undocumented—and unvetted—immigrants who have crossed into non-combatant nations and now pose an unfathomable security risk. Europe will certainly be an epicenter of continuing terrorist attacks because of the many millions of illegal immigrants from the Middle East now occupying virtually all of its major cities. The criminally lax border enforcement of the Biden administration has likewise left America in a precarious and dangerous situation because we literally have no idea who has entered our nation—and what their true intentions might be.

We will, of course, be told there is no reason to be worried. Despite the well-documented failures of the Bidenistas to secure our nation’s borders and the immigration catastrophes now bringing cities such as New York and Chicago to their knees, we are supposed to feel confident that cadres of terrorists have not entered America over the past few years courtesy of the deliberate incompetence of Joe Biden’s Open Border radicals. 

Unfortunately, the reality of the situation we are in today cannot be papered over with a press release full of comforting official lies: We have been invaded and, for reasons that surpass all understanding, we have welcomed these invaders with cash, housing, free education, taxpayer-provided healthcare, and even room service in our finest hotels. Never in history have border jumpers been so richly rewarded for breaking the laws of another country, and we can presume that many more felons will continue to arrive and abuse our completely misguided generosity, which makes just about as much sense as repeatedly jamming a fork into your own eyeball.

Sadly, there are three additional ways Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats have made it much, much more difficult to protect America from terrorism.

First, because Dementia Joe and his Climate Cult minions have drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and unleashed a blizzard of Executive Orders that have kneecapped domestic oil and gas drilling, our options for protecting ourselves from terrorists have been drastically narrowed. Because $10 per gallon gasoline is an economic death sentence for America, we must now kiss up to our enemies and frenemies throughout the Middle East and avoid any actions that might seem to target … well … terrorists. Our economic security can be jerked away in an instant if OPEC decides to shut off the spigot, so we dare not make any moves that might annoy those intent on wiping Israel off the map.

Worse still, because a portion of the revenue from every barrel of oil we must now buy overseas is likely to be redirected to those who wish our nation and allies deadly harm, we have put ourselves in the idiotic position of buying the bullets used to kill us thanks to the idiotic policies of the flaming idiot now in The White House. Joe Biden and his team of losers will talk a good game, but in the final analysis Biden will be fist bumping the bankers for the bloodbath now being unleashed because he needs those tankers of black gold to keep docking at American ports.

Last but not least, we are dealing with the consequences of the ongoing Democratic war on the police, which has left a great many departments scrambling for officers willing to endure the animosity of Blue State Governors, Mayors, and City Councils who are determined to drive experienced police officers away and keep new recruits from applying. 

Given how incredibly important police departments will be in terms of gathering the intelligence and evidence necessary to foil terrorist actions across our nation, there could not be a worse time to have Democrats denigrating officers and doing everything in their power to make their jobs impossible by leveling unfounded and unfair accusations of bigotry as they simply try to do their sworn duty. When a terrorist bomb explodes and innocents are slaughtered on America soil, which is a sickening inevitability, we will need to support law enforcement—not demonize it.

Whether they are driven by Woke antisemitism, hatred of America, or a misanthropic fascination with wielding raw power over others, too many of those who today presume to lead our nation are exactly the wrong leaders for this extraordinarily dangerous point in our nation’s history. Their ideological blinders and zeal for welcoming criminals into our country makes an already frightening period of our shared society even more perilous—and we are soon to pay the price for their many failures to protect and defend our nation.
