The Democrats’ Theater Of Shutdown Cruelty

I am often frustrated with the political dysfunction that continues to harm our nation and citizens. However, I am sorry if it is far too plain that I am now absolutely infuriated about with the recent posturing foolishness of our America-hating federal legislators and their allies—and what it means for the future of our nation.

Like most Americans, now that Democrats have finally ended a string of 14 Senate votes rejecting a Continuing Resolution to reopen the government, I am pleased that we have the start of a Federal budget. Nonetheless, this entire six-week episode of histrionics about extending temporary premium subsidies to forestall the ongoing death spiral of the so-called Affordable Care Act, also known Obamacare, which is neither affordable nor caring (but makes Democrat campaign contributors in the healthcare industry very happy) was an elaborate charade that concealed intentions that should concern every American who is wondering about the direction of our country.

The oft-stated desire of the Democrat Marxists (or, as they preferred to be called, Democratic Socialists) to crush our country and punish our people took a very dark turn during the government shutdown. Having insinuated themselves into the corridors of government, the lecture halls of academia, and the newsrooms of our nation over the past half century, America’s implacable Communists desperately want—and fully expect—a revolution that will empower them to hurt and silence their opponents, whom we can label as that very large cohort of patriotic Americans repelled by their Woke shenanigans.

Apparently yearning for a Götterdämmerung, a lovely German word for the violent collapse of societal order, these disdainful extremists hope that promoting suspicion and chaos will allow them to seize power now and forever. Their comrades in the tattered remnants of what used to be the Democrat Party have legitimized their transition from supporting riots to actively working to foment them by insisting that horrible, bigoted Americans have twice put Hitler in the White House—so they deserve retribution.

The only plausible explanation for Democrats’ budgetary obstinacy, aside from their desire to continue providing illegal immigrants with free healthcare through the Medicaid program, is they assumed using a protracted government budget standoff to push people into poverty and hunger by stopping their paychecks and cutting off their food aid would lead to the widespread civil disorder they need to create an “emergency” that will help them to regain their seats in the Senate and House in the 2026 elections and (yet again) impeach President Trump. Moreover, they hope election victories will allow them to restart the show trials they need to create the crazed conditions where, in the words of their favorite Democrat operative (and infamous loudmouth) James Carville, those who are deemed “collaborators” (also known as Moderates and Republicans) can have their heads shaved, be outfitted in orange jumpsuits, and be marched down Pennsylvania Avenue while the public spits on them.

Shades of Stalin! This is the fantasy of those who want to grease their path back to power with American suffering, which demonstrates a craving for violence and vengeance that is frighteningly crazy, possibly treasonous, and deeply un-American. The plain fact that the Democrat Party has been captured by Marxist leadership that has finally—and perhaps irrevocably—crossed the line between reasoned opposition and open sedition should worry every American who cherishes the freedoms we continue to enjoy in a world that too often seems rife with dictators and demagogues.

The infuriated reactions to the end the shutdown from Leftist Democrats ranging from Gavin Newsom to Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez to J.B. Pritzker (“Pathetic” / “People want us to hold the line” / “This is not a deal—it’s an empty promise”) speaks volumes because what they detest is an agreement to pay and feed Americans, which in any reality other than their own is a good thing. I have little doubt that at least a few of today’s manic Marxists were also hoping for a airline crash they could blame on Trump—neatly ignoring the fact they were refusing to pay our country’s air traffic controllers—but I suppose they’ll find some other catastrophe they can cause.

A political party that is actively impedes law enforcement (“Defund the police! Fuck ICE!”), conspires against and threatens any elected official who dares cross them (now they’re posting guillotine memes featuring Democrat leader Chuck Schumer!), and seeks to spread pain across America in the hope it will turn into the riots and looting that will permit them to dox and deplatform Americans who happen to disagree with their governing ideology might want to to question their own patriotism—or even simple good sense.

The insanity of using their budgetary “leverage” to spread misery and anger throughout our country for more than six weeks indicates that moderation is no longer in the cards: Confrontation is now the preferred tactic. Divide and conquer was a tried and true tactic long before Machiavelli put it to paper during the 16th century, but it has also often been the precursor of bloodshed throughout human history because hatreds, once unleashed, are nearly impossible to control, so dancing on the edge of reason might be a very dangerous move indeed.

Creating chaos should never be a political strategy because it creates distrust—but perhaps this is the goal. Compromise is impossible where trust is absent, and the swaggering Marxists now in control of the Democrat agenda, particularly after they helped elect one their own as Mayor of New York City (and now, apparently, Seattle too), have no interest whatsoever in giving an inch in their quest to remake a country they believe is evil and beyond redemption by crippling capitalism, recasting criminals as freedom fighters, and cancelling our Constitution, which they now vociferously argue is an outdated impediment to their “Progressive” agenda.

Is all of this more than a bit scary? You bet it is. Anyone who believes they have the right—nay, the duty!—to hijack our legislative processes in order to gain through blackmail what they cannot at the ballot box is a clear danger to our democracy. Unfortunately, we can be certain that this deal to fund the government until only January 30th of next year is but the start of a siege that will further poison our national dialogue and continue to cripple our democracy in a blind quest to circumvent the will of the people and impose a Marxist ideological agenda that will only harm us even more.
